CREATIVE COMPETITION

2nd STUDENT ADVERTISING CONGRESS
CREATIVE COMPETITION JUDGING

BACKGROUND

The Creative Competition is open to all junior and senior college students from mass communication, advertising, fine arts, public relations, marketing, journalism, broadcasting, theater arts and other allied courses.

MECHANICS

1. The Creative Brief will be provided by the 2nd Student Advertising Congress Presentor - Globe.

2. Competition is open to non- delegates as long as they are junior and senior college students in the aforementioned courses.

3. Individual and team entries (with a maximum of 5 members per team) will be accepted.

4. The competition is open to individual medium entries for:

  • Print
  • Radio
  • TV
5. No entry fees will be charged and there will be no limit on the number of entries per school.

6. The individual/ team must submit single entries per medium composed of:
  • Print (full-color centerspread; reduced to fit a 12' x 18' digital print)
  • Radio (produced radio 30s material 3cuts in CD format)
  • TV (produced TV 30s commercial 3 cuts in DVD format)
7. Fill-in entry form. Seal creative materials in a long brown envelope and send to the Student Advertising Congress Drop-off Center at Unit 3-A TAL bldg. Edison St. Makati City. Tel. no. (02) 458-8976.

8. Deadline for submission of entries is on or before September 14, 2007 .

9. Judging is on September 18, 2007 .

10. Criteria for judging:
  • Creativity and execution 50%
    Creative Strategy should be online with the creative brief given by the client to include the target market, consumer proposition, product, mood and tone of advertising plus other mandatories set by client.


  • Originality 30%
    The materials should be original and never have a striking resemblance and similarities to other previously published and/ or aired campaigns. Should not be an adaptation of local or foreign creative materials.


  • Production Values 20%
    Clarity of execution to include excellence in art direction, layout, photography, copy for print; and direction, cinematography, lighting, editing, production design and sound production for broadcast media.
12. Best Individual Medium Awards

There will be 3 Major Awards:

Best Print Ad
Best Radio Ad
Best TV Ad

13. Grand Prize:

There will be one grand prize each for print, radio and TV.
The grand prize for each medium will include:

P10,000 cash plus trophy
Journalism Workshop from Philippine Daily Inquirer
IT Training from Microsoft Philippines
Free Tickets to Boracay for 5 from Negros Navigation


14. Special Awards

There will be Special Awards in the following categories:

Print Ad
Best Copy
Best Art Direction

Radio Ad
Best Copy
Best Sound Production

TV Ad
Best Copy
Best Editing
Best Cinematography

The Special Awards will be recognized as an outstanding creative work in its area of excellence and will be given a trophy and citation in each category

13. Awarding will be on September 28, 2007at the AFP Theatre, Camp Aguinaldo .

14. By affixing his/her signature to the entry form, the participant/s signifies that the advertising materials entered is his/her own and frees the organizers from any legal liability, claim or demand arising from any violation of copyright or infringement of intellectual property rights; he/she understands and accepts all the rules and mechanics of the competition, and that any violation of the rules and mechanics constitutes grounds for elimination and forfeiture of prizes.

15. All entries submitted will be the property of the organizer and the client and may be used by the same in whatever manner deemed necessary.
